History:
Space-borne life-forms found within a plasma streamer between a binary star pair in the Igo Sector. Quasi-energy microbes, first encountered by the crew of the Starship Yosemite in 2369, existed in a state between matter and energy, and were able to live in the matter stream of a transporter beam. Several of these micobes were accidentally brought aboard the Yosemite, where they nearly caused the destruction of that ship. Following the detection of these life-forms by Enterprise-D personnel, the microbes were removed from both ships' transporter systems and returned to the plasma streamer that was their home.
