History:
Technologically advanced civilization of androgynous humanoids. The Srivani had submolecular technology well beyond that of the Federation in the late 24th century. Around stardate 51244, about 50 Scrivani scientists, including Alzen and Takar, conducted a series of invasive medical tests on the crew of the Federation starship Voyager without the knowledge or consent of the experimental subjects. These tests involved genetic markers that caused severe mutations, some of which proved lethal. The Srivani, who went to considerable lenghts to avoid detection, claimed their data were to be used to help cure physical and psychological disorders that afflicted millions of people, but the Voyager crew refused to consent to the tests. Once the Srivanian activity was discovered, Voyager captain Janeway purposefully steered her ship into a binary pulsar to force them off of her ship.
